Landon Dezarn’s 28-point scoring effort lifted Clay County over Jackson County on Tuesday with a 66-57 decision.
The win moved the Tigers to 10-9 overall, and 5-2 against 49th District competition. The loss dropped the Generals to 14-8, and 4-3 overall against 49th District opponents.
Ethan Jackson added 14 points for Clay County while Grayson Hooker finished with eight points. Aiden Wagers scored seven points while Hayden Harris finished with six points.
Jude Lakes led Jackson County with 18 points, and six rebounds while Carter Cunagin had 13 points, and seven rebounds. Keagan Ward finished with seven points, and 11 rebounds.
The Generals led 11-8 after the first quarter but Clay County fought back and took a 26-23 lead at halftime. The Tigers’ advantage grew to 44-34 entering the fourth quarter.
