Howard comes up big during Pineville’s 58-20 win over Thomas Walker, Va.

Pineville avoided losing consecutive games for the first time this season by upending Thomas Walker, Va., 58-20.

The Lady Mountain Lions (16-6) held their opponents to under 27 points for the fifth time this season thanks to another impressive defensive effort. Pineville led 22-2 at the end of the first quarter, and never looked back.

Four players scored in double figures for the Lady Mountain Lions with Rachel Howard’s 19-point effort leading the way. Howard finished with a perfect 9-of-9 shooting effort while totaling six rebounds, and four steals. 

Abby Jackson added 13 points on a 6-of-9 shooting effort while finishing with three steals, and three assists. Nadine Johnson had 11 points while also finishing with five rebounds, five steals, and three assists. Ava Cornett scored 10 points while totaling seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
