Lady Bobcats record 12th consecutive win over Harlan with 69-68 victory 

David Teague’s Bell County Lady Bobcats entered Tuesday’s 52nd District matchup needing a win after losing three of their last four games.

They managed to get the win, but it wasn’t easy.

Harlan hung tough throughout before Bell County pulled off a slim, 69-68, victory.

The Lady Bobcats, who won their 12th straight contest against Harlan, fought through foul trouble throughout the matchup but did just enough to pull off the win.

Bell County (17-7 overall, 5-0 vs. 52nd District opponents) fell behind 26-10 in the first quarter before battling back the remainder of the game.

Teague’s squad outscored the Lady Green Dragons, 29-13, in the second quarter to send the game into halftime tied at 39 apiece.

Gracie Jo Wilder caught fire in the third quarter, scoring nine of her 14 points, which allowed Bell County to take a 55-50 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Bell County did just enough in the final eight minutes to hold on and win thanks to Lauren McGeorge scoring 10 of her game-high 23 points during the period. 

Mataya Ausmus added 16 points for Bell County while Aymanni Wynn led Harlan (8-13, 3-2) with 32 points. Kylie Noe finished with 14 points while Emma Owens had eight points.
