Harlan received a 52nd District scare as Kyler McLendon torched the nets for 38 points to lead the Green Dragons to a slim 73-70 win over 52nd Disrict foe Bell County.
Derrick Akal’s squad held an 18-16 lead in the first half before the Bobcats took a 33-31 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
Harlan fought back, and reclaimed a 54-49 advantage Pafter Kyler McLendon scored 14 points in the third quarter.
Harlan (20-3) secured the win in the fourth quarter, as both teams scored 21 points apiece during the final eight minutes.
McClendon led all scorers with 38 points while Austin Will added 16 points. Jae’Dyn Gist also scored in double figures, finishing with 13 points
Blake Burnett led Bell County (8-14) with 21 points while Dawson Woolum finished with 19 points. Cameron Hall scored in double figures with 12 while Ethan Buell finished with 10 points.
