Pineville got a big boost during Senior Night on Monday as senior camera man Jaden Boateng got the start, and scored the game’s first basket during the Mountain Lions’ 75-66 win over Oneida Baptist.
Boating has been Pineville’s camera man for five years, and turned in an impressive performance in the maroon, gold and white uniform.
Sawyer Thompson led the way with 35 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals while Ashton Moser added 13 points and 11 rebounds. Evan Bullitt also scored in double figures finishing with 12 points.
Despite the loss, Oneida Baptist coach Mitchell Madden likes the direction his team is heading.
“Our kids have grown up a lot and it showed tonight,” Madden said. “We played a great discipline game to give ourselves a chance against a great Pineville team.”
The Mountaineers (8-16) continue to improve as the regular season wraps up in the next two weeks.
Canaan Tyree led Oneida Baptist with 22 points while Daniel Etokwudo had 17 points. Skyler Roberts, and Jacob Rogers combined to score 21 points.
