Harlan County locked up the 52nd District’s No. 2 seed with a 63-30 win over rival Harlan on Tuesday.
The Lady Black Bears (18-6 overall, 4-2 vs. 52nd District opponents) captured their third win in a row while pushing their record to 8-2 during their past 10 games.
Harlan County had beaten the Lady Green Dragons (10-15, 3-4) just last week, 64-49.
Taytum Griffin led the Lady Black Bears with 16 points, and four 3-pointers while Ella Karst added 13 points. Faith Hoskins added nine points while Hailey Austin tallied eight points.
Harlan County built a 17-8 lead by the time second quarter rolled around, and saw its lead grow to 38-14 at halftime. The Lady Black Bears outscored Harlan, 25-16, to secure the win.
Kylie Noe led the Lady Green Dragons with 10 points while Emma Owens finished with nine points.
