With one week remaining of regular season play, it looks as if Harlan County is ready for the 52nd District to begin.
The Lady Black Bears rolled to their fourth win in a row by defeating Middlesboro, 67-29, on Friday.
The win improved Harlan County to 19-6 overall, and 5-2 against 52nd District opponents.
The Lady Black Bears will attempt to finish regular season play out with wins but must get past Jackson County, Barbourville, and Jenkins first.
The game was never in doubt with Harlan County jumping out to a 22-6 advantage in the first quarter while never looking back.
Taytum Griffin led the way with 15 points while Jaylin Smith and Ella Karst each scored 13 points apiece. Taylor Lunsford added 12 points, and recorded her 500th career rebound during the process.
Keevi Betts led Middlesboro (4-21, 0-8) with a game-high 19 points.
