Tuesday’s matchup between Knox Central, and Jackson County could be a prelude of things to come.
Both teams showed why they’re considered regional contenders as they both took each other’s best shot as the Lady Panthers pulled out a 56-53 win.
Sophomore Halle Collins kept her double-double streak alive at 25 games, but it wasn’t easy. She finished with 25 points, 10 rebounds, seven steals, and three assists while Timberly Fredrick knocked down five 3-pointers, and finished with 15 points.
Jackson County received balanced scoring throughout the matchup.
Abby Gilbert led the Lady Generals with 17 points while Kenady Ward collected 16 points, and Madison Curry hit four 3-pointers, and finished with 14 points.
Jackson County led 27-24 at halftime before the Lady Panthers outscored them, 19-11, to take a 43-38 lead into the fourth quarter.
