Sidney Jones nails five 3-pointers during Clay County’s 71-57 win over Barbourville

Clay County picked up a much-needed win before postseason play began with a 71-57 victory over Barbourville.

Gemma Parks’ squad snapped a five-game losing skid while improving to 11-18. The loss dropped Barbourville to 4-18.

Clay County built a 23-8 lead in the first quarter, and led, 41-18, at halftime before taking a 52-43 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Sidney Jones knocked down five 3-pointers, and scored 23 points for Clay County while Jaylen Combs added 18 points. Mackenzie Sizemore finished with 12 points while Lauryn Sizemore added 11 points.

Sarah Smith led Barbourville with 24 points while Layla Brock scored 14 points, and Danni Jordan finished with 11 points.
